MBC President Ruperto Nicdao Jr. is confident that   companies selling consumer products who want to   reach potential customers in the most remote areas of the country will see the advantage of going with the network via Radyo Natin.

democratizing_radio.jpgA brainchild of MBC Chairman Fred J. Elizalde,  Radyo Natin has given small provincial businessmen access to radio technology -- previously available only to large corporations -- on an equitable sharing scheme.   In this way, MBC offers affordable electronic media to small communities, and enables them to generate revenue for themselves.

A brilliant stroke of encouraging entrepreneurship in the field of broadcasting! Although found on the FM band, Radyo Natin hooks up with DZRH in the mornings to offer its listeners the national news. In the afternoons, it swings to being a hit music station.    At the moment, Radyo Natin sends its signals to about 200 stations by using state of the art satellite technology.

Through its own internet link via radyonatin.com, the stations now accept messages from listeners outside of the Philippines.   Overseas Pinoys can now say hello to anyone back home who is listening to Radyo Natin. Also a regular feature is English By Radio, a joint project with the Department of Education, the Philippine Broadcasting Service, the British Council, and the British Broadcasting Company.

Individual operators are out to make Radyo Natin vital and worthwhile, providing communities a tool for local empowerment. The stations are a blank slate – the operators innovate to make them interesting.
