The University of the Visayas Chorale and Hiyas ng Pilipinas Children's Choir led this year’s Paskong Pinoy winners after scoring stunning victories at the grand finals of the MBC National Choral Competition, held at the Aliw Theater in Pasay.
It was the third-straight victory for Hiyas ng Pilipinas under conductor Nick Infante, who reprised their debut win at Manila Broadcasting Company’s Paskong Pinoy in 2007 by topping Vox Angeli anew. AUP Young Voices and Calasiao Children's Chorus, both title-holders at this year’s World Choir Games, came in third and fourth respectively. MBC officials also awarded the top three winners in the Ilaw ng Pasko lantern-making competition.
