			<title>Aliwan Fiesta</title>
			<link>http://www.mbcsales.com.ph/content/view/1/</link>
<description>Few nations in the world can compare with the diversity of artistic forms that can be found in the Philippines. Our provinces, though separated by no more than a few hundred kilometers of land, or water, or both, are cradles of vastly different and interesting cultures. Anyone who wants proof need only watch the 3,000 plus dancers, musicians, and acrobats that compete in Aliwan Fiesta every year. Performing through a four-kilometer stretch along Roxas Boulevard, from Quirino Grandstand to the CCP Complex, massive contingents of streetdancers are accompanied by gigantic floats atop of which ride flawless muses &amp;ndash; all depicting the most popular festivals throughout the archipelago..
Some celebrations are rooted in ceremonies reserved for royalty; while others draw inspiration from mundane everyday tasks such as planting or pottery. There are also those that have institutionalized in song and dance the rituals their forefathers performed for the gods. But regardless of the origin of their performances, all the participants of Aliwan Fiesta put in months of practice to perfect their craft -- for the sheer joy of entertaining others.

Their efforts do not go unrewarded. Apart from being the toast of media, they vie for a cool million-peso stake in this unique grand prix &amp;ndash; not to mention the prestige of being the best of the best.
